2.1. Alapanyag jellemzői és a fő szerkesztési alapelvek - Characteristics of raw material and the main principles of editing

 Amint az előző bejegyzésben is olvasható, a kiválasztott „anyafa” sajátosságai (enyhe, egy síkú görbülete) miatt igen korán el kellett határozni, hogy a rönk melyik oldala lesz a hajó alja. A hajóépítés helyszínére, a Körtvélyesi Révházhoz szállított rönköt ennek figyelembe vételével pontosan a tervezett úszási helyzetbe (függőleges gerinc-síkba) állítottam. A hossztengely szintezését úgy végeztem el, hogy az anyarönk bele legyen pontosan vízszintes (a rönk két végén a bél metszéspontjai közötti elméleti egyenes vonalat tudtam vízszintbe állítani. (A rönk mozgatását egy 2 tonnás hidraulikus autó-emelővel oldottam meg.)

A csónak orránál a rönk 53 cm magas (kéreg nélkül). Ezt a felső oldalon vízszintes síkra faragtam. A megmaradó anyagból maximum 45 cm magas orrtőkét lehet kialakítani. Felülnézetben a vastag ág csomóját körbe-ölelő farostok vonalát követő körvonalat szerkesztettem az orr-részhez.

 As mentioned in the previous post, due to the characteristics of the selected "mother log" (slight, single-plane curvature), it was necessary to determine early on which side of the log would be the bottom of the boat. Taking this into account, I positioned the log delivered to the „Körtvélyesi Révház” exactly in the planned floating position (in the vertical spine plane). I adjusted the longitudinal axis so that the mother log was perfectly horizontal (I was able to level a theoretical straight line between the cross-sections of the core at both ends of the log). I solved the movement of the log using a 2-ton hydraulic car lift.

At the bow of the boat, the log is 53 cm high (without the bark). I carved a horizontal plane into the upper side. From the remaining material, a maximum of 45 cm high stem can be fashioned. In the overhead view, I created a contour for the nose section that follows the line of the wood fibers encircling the thick branch knot.

Korábbi elképzelésem az volt, hogy a csónak mindkét vége azonos formájú lesz. Az anyarönk alsó része aszimmetrikus, és 10 centiméterrel nagyobb átmérőjű, mint a felső része, amiből az orrtőkét szerkesztettem. Az orral azonos forma kialakítása több évgyűrű átvágását követelné. Azért, hogy ezt elkerüljem, a rönk alsó végéből még bő fél métert levágtam, majd ezután inkább öblösebb formát rajzoltam fel. A tat magasságát az orrtőkével azonosra: 45 centiméterre vágtam.

 My initial idea was that both ends of the boat would have the same shape. The lower part of the log is asymmetrical and has a diameter that is 10 centimeters larger than the upper part, from which I edited the stem. To achieve a shape identical to that of the stem, it would be necessary to cut several growth rings. To avoid this, I cut off more than half a meter from the lower end of the log, and then I drew a more rounded shape. The height of the stern is the same as the bow: 45 cm.
